In Commonwealth News today, there’s a strange new twist in the Jim Ryan saga. It turns out that Ryan will continue on at the University as a professor at UVa while former Board of Visitor member Bert Ellis sounds off about the ouster. Letters also reveal the threatening tone of letters to UVa to pressure the university.
We continue to follow stories about the Trump bill and the devasting effects it could have on local hospitals, Medicaid and recipients as it heads back to the House of Representatives.

On the upside, The Jettie Baker Center sign is back and shining in new glory after repairs and upgrades were made by Bristol Sign. On the down side, Clintwood’s Splash Pad is still closed as we head into the July 4th Weekend and hotter temperatures are expected this weekend through the beginning of next week.
Appalachian Power is reaching out to customers with suggestions to help fight rising energy costs because of the hot summer weather.

Clintwood District supervisor Rhonda Sluss reminds citizens that representatives from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management are coming to Dickenson County this week to look at damage to the county’s rivers and streams. They will also be looking at trees, debris, mudslides and other remnants of flooding from this year that need to be removed. Sluss reminds residents that they can call or text her at 276-870-8453 if anyone in the Clintwood District have experienced damage.

Dollywood informed us by a press release on Monday afternoon that Blazing Fury,
