Fire destroys home on Coeburn Road early Saturday morning
Pound and Clinchco Fire personnel provided mutual aid and assisted in fighting the fire.
(CLINTWOOD) - Fire destroyed a home on Coeburn Road in the county early Saturday, according to a release from the Clintwood Fire Department.
Clintwood Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the reported structure fire around 12:10 AM. The structure located just across from Whispering Pines Road was showing heavy fire to the front of the structure.
According to the release from the Clintwood Fire Department, Engine One arrived first at the scene and began suppression operations. Engine Two arrived shortly thereafter.
After the arrival of Engine Two, the department engaged in a two-prong assault on the structure, attacking the fire from the front while going in from the rear. Department personnel then deployed an interior operations split with one crew continuing fire suppression and another conducting primary searches for potential occupants.
Crews performed a thorough search of the residence. Primary and secondary searches were completed and no occupants were found inside.
The department made a request for mutual aid support with crews from Pound Fire Department and Clinchco Fire Department responding to assist with the operation.
